The PAS and the Aged Care Funding Instrument

In 2008, the Australian Government introduced the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) as a mechanism to allocate Government subsidies for residential aged care. The PAS Cognitive Impairment Scale was selected as the method of assessment of cognitive impairment in the behaviour domain of specified by the ACFI.

As the developers of the PAS, we are delighted that our work is useful to the Australian community. Users of the ACFI are welcome to explore and download the complete PAS materials. It is also permissible to reproduce sections of the PAS in any material you use to undertake your assessments.

It is important to understand that neither of the authors was involved in development of the ACFI and we are unable to assist with any queries about it or the use of the PAS in the ACFI.
